Biography:

Christian Franklin Svensson is Ph.d. in anthropology and social innovation, and assistant professor at Department of Sociology and Social Work at Aalborg University, Denmark. His teaching and supervision is affiliated to programmes including the BA in Social Work, MSc in Sociology, the Erasmus Mundus MA in Advanced Development in Social Work and the MA in Nordic Masters in Social Work and Welfare.

Research Interests

Research themes include social work, sense of belonging, in-/exclusion processes, civil society, cultural diversity, migration, development and globalisation studies. Among other research projects, he currently focuses on narratives, imagined futures and migration among scholars, writers and artists, who must flee their countries of origin because of personal persecution where they are branded as dissident or unwanted. Their imaginings of the future, needs and challenges of coming to a host country create strong identifications for these individuals.
