Biography:

Md. Sanwar SIRAJ received a Bachelor degree and a Master degree in Government and Politics from Jahangirnagar University of Bangladesh, and a Doctorate degree in Public Policy from City University of Hong Kong. For the academic excellency, Dr. SIRAJ received Outstanding Academic Performance awards for the three consecutive years of his PhD study from City University of Hong Kong.

Dr. SIRAJ currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Government and Politics, Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh. Before joining in the Department of Government and Politics, Jahangirnagar University in September, 2016, SIRAJ previously worked as an Assistant Professor in Political Science at Begum Rokeya University and a Part-time Lecturer in Government and Politics at Asian University of Bangladesh. His research centers ethics and public policy issues such as inequality, justice and bribery in healthcare, organ transplantation, medical decision making, end of life healthcare, truth telling in medicine and healthcare, ethics of termination of life-sustaining care, child marriage and its consequence on health in the comparative perspective of Bangladeshi Muslim and Western secular culture. He has also interest in working to explore health conditions on migrant Rohingya community who fled Bangladesh from neighboring Myanmar.

Research Interests

As I am working on ethics and healthcare issues in the comparative perspective of Bangladeshi Muslim and Western secular culture, I am also interested on working healthcare issues on migrant people. For example, he is currently seeking funds for conducting research so as to explore how Rohingya people, who fled Bangladesh from Myanmar, cope-up their lives with a vulnerable living conditions and what initiative that is to improve their health conditions.
