Emellin de Oliveira is a PhD in Law Candidate at NOVA University of Lisbon, a FCT Research Fellow and a Researcher at the Research Center on Law and Society (CEDIS). She holds a Master's Degree in International Migration from ISCTE-IUL, a Specialization in Peace and Security Studies from University of Coimbra and a Bachelor's Degree in Law from Federal University of CearĂ¡. Along with her Academic experience, she has practiced Law in Brazil and Portugal in the field of Migration Law, collaborating with several Associations and Civil Entities both in training and in legal advice on issues related to Immigration and Asylum.


Her doctoral research aims at legally discussing the securitization of migration in EU, analysing the migration-security nexus and the digitalization of the border control.
