Ms Manisha Mishra

PhD Research Fellow, Department of Sociology and Social Work, University of Agder.


Manisha is currently a PhD Research Fellow at the University of Agder (Norway). Her research focuses on individuals who experienced (and are currently experiencing) frequent migration in their childhood and teenage years to understand how such migratory experiences impact notions of identity and belonging. Her research spans several countries - Norway, the United Kingdom and India - and aims at providing an alternate (Global South) perspective to prevailing Eurocentric narratives on so-called “Third Culture Kids”. Manisha has two Master’s degrees – one in Transcultural Studies from Heidelberg University (Germany) and another in Communication Studies from Manipal University (India).
