Md. Abusalah Sakender obtained his BA (Honours) in Islamic History and Culture and MA in Islamic History and Culture with specialization on Sociological History of Islam from the University of Dhaka in Bangladesh and MA in Comparative History from 1500 till present time with specialization on Religious Studies from Central European University at Budapest in Hungary. He successfully completed the International Summer Program on Yiddish Language and Modern Jewish History and Culture in German/Slavic Contact Zones at Dresden-Prague-Wroclaw on 7–20 July 2019 organized by Technische Universitat Dresden, Die Beauftragte Bundesregierung fur Kultur und Medien, and University of Wroclaw. In addition, he successfully completed the Hindi language course from Indra Gadhi Cultural Center Dhaka, Sanskrit course from Central University Sanskrit Language Club, and Indra Gadhi Cultural Center Dhaka. He has been working as an Assistant Professor of Jagannath University, Dhaka, Bangladesh since 2014. Previously he served at the same university as a Lecture from 2011 to 2014. Additionally, he worked as an Advisory Editor of He served as a Student Representative (elected) of the Central European University Student Union from 2017 to 2018. He is working as Award Coordinator of Duke of Edinburgh's International Award of Jagannath University Chapter since 2014. He is also a Social-Activist. As a part of this work, he has been writing post-editorials and commentaries in several daily newspapers including the highest circulated daily newspaper in Bangladesh and India. He published ten research articles in reputed and peer-reviewed journals. He also participated and presented research papers at national and international conferences at home such as at Jagannath University, IBS of Rajshahi University, and aboard, for instance, the Jadavpur University of India and University Queensland of Australia. He awarded research grants and scholarship from the Center for Religious Studies, Department of History CEU, Budapest Foundation, Jagannath University, and the University of Dhaka for his academic excellence and research activities. Jagannath University published his first book Bangla-Cooch Behar Military History in February 2019.
