Biography:

Md Farid Hossain is Assistant Professor, Department of Government and Politics, at Jahangirnagar University (JU), where he has served previously as Lecture. Before joining Jahangirnagar University he was a Lecturer and Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science, Jagannath University (JnU), and from the period of 2011 to 214. Mr. Md Farid Hossain also taught Economic Growth and Sustainable Livelihood in Greater China, and Urbanization in Greater China, at the Education University of Hong Kong as a lecturer and tutor from 2019 to till date.

He obtained his Bachelor of Social Science (BSS) degree in Government and Politics from Jahangirnagar University and two Master’s degrees, one in Government and Politics from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh, another in Public Policy Analysis from the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), Tokyo, Japan under the prestigious Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT) Scholarship. He was awarded the prestigious Hong Kong Ph.D. Fellowship for his Ph.D. study at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), he was a recipient of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government Scholarship- 2019 for his study and research visit to the Malmo University and Linnaeus University, Sweden. He also awarded Outbound Reaching Scholarship 2018-19 from the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Science, The Education University of Hong Kong, for his outbound research. He has published widely in the areas of, international relations, international political economy, and development in Asia. Mr. Hossain presented several research papers at the Education University of Hong Kong (Hong Kong), Lingnan University (Hong Kong), GRIPS (Japan), Kobe University (Japan), Linnaeus University (Sweden), Malmo University (Sweden), Satyapriya Roy College of Education (India), University of Colombo (Sri Lanka). He is also one of the contributing authors of Education in the Age of Globalization: Policy, Practice, and Perspectives published in India. At present Mr. Hossain is a Ph.D. researcher in the Department of Asian and Policy Studies (APS), at the EdUHK, where he has been assigned to the research center - Center for Greater China Studies (CGCS).
