Biography:

I am a contemporary historian, working on migrant and military livelihoods in South Sudan and its borderlands. My most recent policy reports include 'Returns and Peace in South Sudan' (December 2019), and 'Monetized livelihoods and militarised labour in South Sudan's borderlands: cross-border trade, movement, and survival', with Diing Majok (November 2019).

Research Interests

My work includes the history of political thought among war-displaced communities in South Sudan; and contemporary interdisciplinary research on migrant and military labour systems in South Sudan and Sudan.
