Pallavi Chakravarty is Assistant Professor in the School of Liberal Studies in Ambedkar University Delhi, New Delhi India. Her doctoral thesis looked at the rehabilitation of refugees coming into post-Partition India from West and East Pakistan respectively, from a comparative perspective through which she was able to demonstrate the faultlines in the rehabilitation policy of the Government of India with respect to the latter category. Her areas of interest include partition studies, forced migration studies and gender studies. Her doctoral thesis is under publication with Primus Books, Rehabilitating the Refugee: An East-West Story.

I am interested in developing the theme of forced migration under the following themes:
how is a nation imagined by the immigrants; State-host population-refugee/immigrant relations; coping mechanisms in an alien land.
