The Centre for the Study of Global Human Movement

Biography

My academic research is based out of literary studies, as I teach and write about contemporary world literature. At present I am working on a project that responds to the crisis of (mostly Syrian) migration. This project includes a the creation and launch of a digital archive, funded by the British Academy (www.makinghomeaway.com (coming 2020)). I am also in the process of writing a book-length study on forms of responses to displacement,  integrating the interviews with refugees and asylum seekers which I have been conducting over the past four years into a literary, yet public-facing, discourse.

Research

Refugees and Asylum seekers displaced throughout the Middle East; Resettlement of Syrian Refugees throughout the UK; the "life-time work" of creating home.
