Refugees and Access to Higher Education

How to facilitate access of refugees and asylum-seekers to higher education in the UK? This panel brings together specialists on refugee education in the UK and is followed by a relaxed and friendly information session for students who would like to apply to competitive UK universities for undergraduate degrees.

In the first part of this session, we will discuss current access of refugees to higher education, the problems they face and what universities can do to facilitate refugee access to higher education with Dan Webb from Refugee Education and students from refugee backgrounds.

The latter part is geared towards interested students considering applying to UK universities. Esme Page (Admissions Coordinator, Newnham College) and Amber Cuttill (Head of Widening Participation, Pembroke College) are excited to talk about applying to UK universities, what students should think about when choosing a university and what top UK universities look for in a prospective student.

To attend the event, which will run Wednesday, 16 June, 5.00 - 6.00pm, please complete the below registration form and we will contact you by email prior to the event with the relevant Zoom details.
