Biography

Emmanuel-Pierre Guittet is research associate at the Centre for Research on Conflict, Liberty and Security (CCLS, Paris) and senior associate at Conflict Management Consulting (CMC, Brussels). He holds a Ph.D. in political science and international relations and has worked as assistant Professor in France (Sciences-Po Paris), Canada (University of Montreal) and the United Kingdom (University of Manchester). He has published widely on political violence, Basque nationalism, gender activism, conflict transformation, security and fundamental Human Rights. He is co-editor of the Manchester University Press book series New Approaches to Conflict and Security Analysis, of the International Political Sociology Routledge book series and of the Peter Lang Explosive Politics Series. He has regularly worked as adviser to the European Union and its Member States on European security policy and police cooperation matters. He is fluent in French and English and has a working knowledge of Spanish.

Research

His research interests include political violence, conflict and post-conflict reconstruction processes, refugees and political asylum, gender issues, security and fundamental Human Rights.
