It is with immense pride and joy that we congratulate Dr Marissa Quie on winning the Cambridge Award 2025 for Research Impact and Engagement- Established Academic Award and the Audience Award for her outstanding work for and with Afghan women.
The "Women in Conflict - Afghanistan" program based at the University's Refugee and Crises Hub, within our Centre for the Study of Global Human Movement, is a continuation of her decades long efforts and has created significant impact through innovative remote learning for women affected by conflict, offering masterclasses and mentoring circles that support education and resilience in crises. Our program has reached hundreds of Afghan women both inside Afghanistan and in third countries such as Turkey and Pakistan.
If you would like to support her vital work for women in conflict at our Centre, we warmly invite you to consider volunteering as a mentor, helping to coordinate mentors, supporting fundraising efforts or donating to our fund: https://www.humanmovement.cam.ac.uk/donations-fund-crises-emergencies-and-refugees.
