Biography

I am a PhD candidate at the department of Social Anthropology at the University of Cambridge. I have a bachelor degree in Development Studies from the University of Oslo, a Master degree in International Relations from LSE and an interdisciplinary Mphil in Justice & Transformation from the University of Cape Town.

Research

My PhD project explores volunteer-based humanitarianism and refugee advocacy, focusing particularly on questions of legitimacy, responsibility, humanitarian design, witnessing and political imaginations. My PhD fieldwork explored these issues ethnographically through an 18 months extended case study of a Norwegian volunteer humanitarian organisation working in refugee camps in Greece.
